Jacqueline du Pré plays Dvorák & Saint-Saëns This disc provides a rare glimpse into the magic that du Pre was capable of weaving in a live performance. Sarah McLachlan, Surfacing, track #7: A multi-track studio recording that shows imaging but also shows the capability of putting up a huge soundstage.   surfacing.jpg (15411 bytes)
Fairfield Four, Standing in the Safety Zone, track #6: Cue this track up at about 1:55 and you'll get a great deep male baritone mixed in with the other voices.   safety.jpg (23538 bytes)
Bruckner, Symphony #9, track #10: Minnesota Symphony Orchestra - this piece starts off delicately, builds to a crescendo and returns back to a delicate passage very quickly. Shows a systems' versatility and range in creating a full, dynamic orchestral soundstage.   bruckner9.jpg (18361 bytes)
Toto, Tambu, track #1: Many high end speakers can handle all of the previous demo material but would struggle to handle the bass extension required of rock and roll. This cut has very deep bass and a lot of attack. A great way to show off your sub!   tambu.jpg (29732 bytes)
Dire Straits, Brothers in Arms, various tracks: Overall a great recording and one of the first digital recordings to do the format justice. Excellent bass extension and imaging as well as lush vocals.   brothers.jpg (19288 bytes)
Tracy Chapman, Tracy Chapman (first album), tracks 1, 4, and others: Another great recording, with beautifully miked vocals, clean and simple imaging and excellent bass extension and attack. Her other albums are very good also.   chapman.jpg (17541 bytes)
